“On average, you should be applying a quarter teaspoon of sunscreen to your face, or approximately the length of your index and middle fingers combined. Don’t forget your neck and ears, too! When applying around your eyes, gently tap along your orbital bone (think the rim of your sunglasses), avoiding the inner corners, lash line, and mobile eyelid. And yes, wash your hands before going in with concealer.

If the UV index is 3 or higher, you need sunscreen. Oily skin in a humid climate can skip moisturizer and wear Disco Block™ alone in the morning.”

Does sunscreen help prevent collagen loss?

Collagen is your skin's scaffolding, and UV is one of the biggest things that breaks it down. Before you think about boosting collagen with retinoids or procedures, protect the collagen you have. Disco Block SPF 50 gives broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection with no white cast, so you'll actually wear it every day.

Disco Block can be enjoyed by all skin types! It has a whipped texture that is lightweight and hydrating. If your skin is oily and you live somewhere humid, you can skip your moisturizer and just use Disco Block in the AM. If your skin is on the drier side, a layer of Disco Block over your moisturizer is the perfect addition.

No cast. The whipped texture melts in across skin tones, and reviewers on deep and light skin both confirm it.

Yes! Disco Block is lightweight and non-greasy, and plays well with all skin types, including breakout-prone skin. Sun protection is one of the most important steps you can take to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), those dark spots that can linger after blemishes heal.

The finish is dewy and hydrating, and oily skin can find it shiny in hot weather. A mattifying powder or a lighter application helps, and if you're congestion-prone, patch test first.

Disco Block is a chemical sunscreen, sometimes called an organic sunscreen. Its broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection comes from four filters: avobenzone 3 percent, homosalate 7 percent, octocrylene 10 percent, and octisalate 5 percent, all also approved in the EU. We chose a transparent chemical formula so it blends across a wide range of skin tones with no white cast.

Go for it. It's water resistant up to 40 minutes, so reapply after sweating or swimming.

Yes! It layers beautifully. We recommend giving it 15 minutes to absorb before applying makeup. And for touch-ups over makeup, Dr. Shereene Idriss recommends using a soft sponge to gently dab sunscreen on top.

Disco Block is gentle enough to use around the eyes, but technique matters. Gently tap it along your orbital bone, think the rim of your sunglasses, while avoiding the inner corners, the lash line, and the mobile eyelid. Keeping it off those zones keeps the formula where it belongs.

Disco Block is broad spectrum, which means it protects against both UVA and UVB rays. A PA value comes from a separate UVA-PF test that the FDA does not require to launch in the US, so we don't have an official PA rating yet. We're in the process of getting official UVA-PF results and will share them the moment they're in.
