Application of Lip Peel

Gently squeeze tube to dispense formula and glide evenly across lips. Allow to fully absorb before applying Lip Baste. Gentle enough for nightly use when tolerated.

When using a product with AHAs like the Barrier Baste Lip Peel, remember to reapply sunscreen throughout the day.

If you have a history of cold sores, infections, or any irritation around your lips, consult your local dermatologist prior to use.

Allow the Lip Peel 15-30 seconds to absorb into your lips before applying the Lip Baste.

FAQs

If you have an active cold sore, avoid using exfoliating acids and do not use anything with an applicator until it has healed. If you have a history of cold sores, we suggest consulting your dermatologist prior to use; chemical exfoliants can potentially trigger cold sores in people prone to them.

If your lips are chronically chapped, the pair is the point: the peel renews, the baste locks it in. If all you ever need is moisture, start with Lip Baste alone.

We recommend giving the Lip Peel 15 to 30 seconds to absorb into your lips before applying the Lip Baste.

Dr. Shereene Idriss recommends starting with once a week at night and working up to greater frequency as needed.

We don't recommend using the Lip Peel during the day, because AHA exfoliants can make lips more sensitive to the sun.

Yes. AHAs like mandelic acid in the Lip Peel can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. We always recommend applying an SPF 30+ anywhere you've used AHAs the night before.

The Lip Basting Duo is not designed to be a treatment for eczema. We recommend consulting your dermatologist regarding any skin conditions. The product is suitable for sensitive skin, but you should avoid using the Lip Peel on active eczema.
