    How to use Major Fade Complete AM + PM Discoloration Routine

    Application

    Flash Mask: Apply a thin layer (2-4 pumps) over face, avoiding eye area. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.

    Hyper Serum: Twist the push-button counterclockwise to the ON position, and then click to dispense 2-4 pumps per application. Gently massage serum all over face.

    Active Seal: Press down to dispense (1-2 pumps per application). Gently massage moisturizer all over your face.

    Disco Block: Apply generously and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every two hours.

    Frequency of Use

    You can use Flash Mask up to three times per week at night on clean, dry skin. We recommend using Hyper Serum and Active Seal twice daily, morning and night. Always apply Disco Block SPF 50 as the last step in your morning skincare routine.

    Tips from Dr. Idriss

    There is such a thing as over exfoliating. If using Flash Mask, you don't need any other exfoliants (including retinol) on the same day.

    Your face, neck, and chest are a cosmetic unit. If you have discoloration on your chest, you can use Major Fade Hyper Serum there too.

    Major Fade Active Seal is not your average moisturizer! If you use it, you do not need a separate antioxidant or vitamin C serum.

    When the UV index is three or above, you need to wear sunscreen. If it’s below three, SPF isn’t necessary- but always be sunsmart ;)

    On average, you should be applying a quarter teaspoon of sunscreen for your face. That’s approximately the length of your index and middle fingers combined. Don’t forget your neck and ears, too!

    FAQs

    Major Fade products were created with all skin types in mind. On oily skin, they are lightweight enough to not feel overbearing. On dry skin, they absorb easily and leave your skin feeling buttery soft for hours. If you have extra-dry skin or live in a dry climate, you can apply a rich basic moisturizer (no active ingredients!) after Major Fade Active Seal.

    Yes, but introduce one product at a time and patch test each product before you apply it fully. Be cautious with Major Fade Flash Mask, which contains exfoliating acids and may cause sensitivity for some people.

    All the products work individually to improve discoloration. For the best results, use them together because they're designed to work synergistically. Major Fade Hyper Serum has the most potent level of skin-brightening actives.

    You’ll start to notice a difference in four weeks, but expect to see most results, including improvement in skin tone, faded discoloration, and fewer dark spots, in six to eight weeks. As your skin improves, continue to use the products. Dr. Shereene Idriss’s #1 rule for those with discoloration is: Be Consistent! To maintain an even complexion, your skincare routine should target discoloration even when you’re not flaring up.

    Same order as the system: Flash Mask up to three nights a week, then Hyper Serum, then Active Seal, with sunscreen every morning as your final step.

    Last step, always. Apply Disco Block after your moisturizer, and before makeup. If you wear makeup, we recommend waiting 15 minutes for Disco Block to fully absorb before layering on top.

    It was a deliberate choice. Everyone's tolerance for retinol is different, and Dr. Idriss believes retinol needs to be titrated to your skin's unique needs, both in concentration and in how often you use it. That's why we left it out and designed the routine to play nicely with whatever retinoid you already use.

    No. To treat melasma, the use of RX hydroquinone under the supervision of your doctor is required. The Major Fade Solution System is a cosmetic, not a drug. That said, the Solution System has been clinically tested to improve skin tone, and Dr. Shereene Idriss recommends it to patients who want to improve all types of discoloration.
